Calvin Chambers counsels clients in the areas of tax and tax exemption, employee benefits, business transactions and services and corporate counsel services. He devotes significant attention to client issues concerning tax and tax exemption, including obtaining and maintaining tax exemption; private benefit and private inurement concerns; excess benefit transactions; unrelated business income tax exposure; state and local sales tax compliance; and corporate, partnership and employment tax matters. His employee benefits practice focuses on matters such as health care reform compliance, fringe benefits, the design and compliance aspects of retirement plans (qualified retirement plans, 403(b) plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans) and matters involving welfare benefit plans. Mr. Chambers also advises health care providers on business and transaction matters, including hospital/physician joint ventures, acquisition of medical practices and corporate governance.
