This session will cover how the process of purchasing IT is very different from other items that are purchased during the normal course for a health care provider. Unless the functionality of the system is accurately described and the security and regulatory obligations and risks properly allocated, the health care provider may acquire a product that exposes them to substantial regulatory risk and have an agreement that provides little more than an obligation for the provider to pay the IT company’s bill.
