Biography

Bill Thompson is Chairman of the Firm after serving as its Managing Partner for ten years. He concentrates his practice on financial relationships among health care providers, including hospitals, physicians and health systems. He provides advice and counsel on a national basis regarding mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, network integration, governance and reimbursement issues. Bill also counsels clients on a number of state and federal health care regulatory matters, including health care reform, fraud and abuse, the Stark Law, antitrust, tax-exemption and compliance issues. He has been named in The Best Lawyers in America under the Health Care Section for more than ten years running. Bill was named by Nightingale's Healthcare News as one of the top 10 physician lawyers in the country. He is a counselor and confidant of hospital CEOs, Board Chairs and physician leaders across the country. Bill frequently speaks on topics dealing with health care issues and has authored a variety of articles on health law topics.
