Biography

Andrew Woods serves as Of Counsel in Hall Render's Federal Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy practice area and is based out of Washington, D.C.  Mr. Woods has a diverse legislative practice that includes advising clients on business and health care issues involving the federal government. He has 20 years of experience in the development and implementation of health policy initiatives for a variety of health care organizations.  One of the nation’s leading authorities in the area of cancer care representation, Mr. Woods' health care clients include:  the American College of Radiation Oncology, US Oncology, 21st Century Oncology, DaVita, the Detroit Medical Center, Alliance Oncology, OncoLogics, Calypso Medical, Varian Medical Systems and the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare.  Mr. Woods also represents the Radiation Therapy Alliance (RTA), a lobbying organization comprised of four leading freestanding radiation therapy companies, including 21st Century Oncology, Vantage Oncology, Radiation Oncology Services of America and Oncure.  Collectively, the RTA represents over 207 radiation therapy centers in 21 states.  Mr. Woods also represents other businesses, including Junior Achievement and The University of Phoenix. In addition to clerking for the Supreme Court of North Carolina from 1989 to 1990, he was a political strategist and legal counsel to Governor James B. Hunt, Jr. (D - NC) and a political advisor to Senator Connie Mack (R - FL).  Through his bipartisan work on cancer care issues, Mr. Woods has developed close relationships with Democratic and Republican Members of Congress, particularly the Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means Committee.
