BIOGRAPHY

Melissa Markey primarily represents health care providers and research organizations. She leads the Hall Render Life Sciences team and has a particular interest in human subject research and technology law, including data privacy and security, medical device security, telemedicine, mobile medical applications and consumer-facing health care, electronic health records, data rights management and e-commerce issues, as well as emergency legal preparedness, patient care issues, the clinician-technology interface and compliance. Melissa is an author and national speaker on topics in cybersecurity and privacy, mobile medical devices, FDA law and research, emerging diseases and emergency preparedness and response law. Melissa served two terms as a Board member for the American Health Lawyers Association and is licensed in Michigan, Texas and Utah. Melissa is also a licensed health care provider.
